Your Monitored Burglar Alarm system explained...
Finding your way around the Monitored Burglar Alarm system is easy – here’s a quick guide to what’s what.
The central hub controls your new alarm system. In the event of an alarm being triggered by one of the detectors, which is connected wirelessly to the hub, will enable your incident manager, who is located at a secure UK-based monitoring station to instantly respond to the alarm raised. The incident manager will be able to communicate directly to you through the central hub, or listen in to events taking place at property. After assessing the situation a designated key holder will be alerted, or, if necessary, the emergency services will be contacted.
Remote Key Fob
Your Pro-tect alarm is a doddle to activate thanks to the Remote Key Fob. It allows the Pro-tect Hub to be activated when you go out, and quickly turned off when you return home. A part-set button also allows you to activate or deactivate part of the system. For example, you might only want the downstairs area activated during the night. And don’t worry – setting and un-setting the system only affects intruder alarm monitoring devices; any smoke or carbon monoxide monitoring devices, medical alert or panic buttons are permanently active.
Should anyone break into your home, this wireless motion detector will pick up on it by determining changes in infra-red energy patterns. As soon as this happens, the Hub will alert an Incident Manager within our UK-based Secure Monitoring Station, and they will then take control of the situation. The fact that our Incident Managers are able to instantly communicate directly with an intruder can help minimise any loss or damage. Please also be reassured that the Motion Detector emits no radiation and is harmless to humans and animals.
Door Contacts are clever little devices that can tell whether a door is open or closed – helping to detect any intrusion via that door. Here’s how it works – a magnet attached to the door makes a switch in the door contact complete a circuit. If the magnet is removed, the circuit is broken – activating the device. As soon as this happens, the Hub will send a signal to our 24 hour UK-based Secure Monitoring Station, opening up a two-way communication with one of our Incident Managers.
